The computed tomography allows to obtain digital images of any organ, obtained by X-ray scanning. Due to the fact that the CT provides a detailed review of all tissues of the body, including soft tissue, this method of diagnosis is considered to be more informative than other types of examinations. All the received pictures are saved in the form of photo on a computer and displayed on the monitor screen.
Indications for lung CT
The whole procedure of the study of lungs with the help of CT scan takes a few minutes. The CT method allows up to 90%, to diagnose lung diseases such as cancer, tuberculosis, emphysema, inflammatory processes.
During the examinations of lung, used two modes — study of lungs themselves and mediastinum study. At the same time, it is measured not only the condition of the lung tissue, but also the bronchi, the adjacent vessels, partitions between lung lobes.
